Competition Information

General Guidelines

Open to all Primary Five students enrolled in the year of the competition.

Registration must be done through primary schools; no private registrations are allowed.

There is no limit on the number of participants from each school. However, schools have the discretion to determine the numbers and select their students for participation.

Registration period: 10 March to 7 April 2025.
-
Registration fee: $24 nett per participant (inclusive of 9% GST).
-
There will be NO REFUND of registration fee.
Competition Format for 2025
-
The competition consists of a single round and is conducted in English.
-
The theory paper will be a 1 hour 15 minutes paper.

Calculators are not permitted.

The difficulty level aligns with the Primary School Science Syllabus, and includes testing general science ability, knowledge, analytical, and comprehension skills.

The paper consists of two sections:

Section 1: 30 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each with 4 possible answers, only one of which is correct.

Section 2: 10 questions with multiple correct responses.

All decisions made by the organizer are final. No discussion or correspondence will be entertained.
Awards
-
Medals will be awarded to participants based on their scores in the theory paper.

Trophies will be awarded to the top 20 schools based on the cumulative scores of their top 5 students from the Theory Round.

A certificate will be awarded to the top-performing girl from each participating school, provided at least a Silver award is achieved.

All participants will receive e-certificates.

Competition results will be communicated through the respective schools. No telephone inquiries regarding results will be entertained.
Electronic Certificates

Schools and parents are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of participants' names at the point of registration as they will appear on the e-certificates.

A surcharge of $10 nett will be imposed for the reprint of each e-certificate.

Any medals and trophies will be delivered to the schools around mid-September 2025.
