Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is SPSO related to Direct School Admissions?
No, it is not related to the Direct School Admissions Exercise. However, participants who show outstanding performance will be noted.
2. Is there an age limit?
As long as students are enrolled in Primary Five in the year of the competition, they are eligible to participate regardless of age.
3. Can Primary Six students take part?
No, this competition is for Primary Five students only.
4. Can students in levels lower than Primary Five take part?
No, this competition is meant for Primary Five students.
5. Can students register as individuals if their primary schools are not taking part or the school did not select them as representatives?
No, students can only be registered through their schools. Please approach your school's Science department for registration and clarification.
6. A few students would like to withdraw from the competition upon successful registration. Will their registration fees be refunded?
No, there will be no refund of the registration fee.
7. When will the results of the theory round be released and how will they be made known?
The results will be released in July. Schools will be notified by email. No telephone inquiries regarding results will be entertained.
8. Are samples of past year SPSO papers available?
Past year SPSO papers are not available. Schools and students can refer to the SPSO sample questions found on this website.
